Procrastinating because of procrastination

Not doing or delaying of a task which is most often directly linked to perfectionism. A consequence of procrastination is that it often makes us feel higher levels of stress and guilt. A procrastinator typically produces less than their colleagues and are able to make a calamity from thin air. In some cases they do get angry with others as they can't fulfill their commitments as agreed. It is not unusual for most people to procrastinate sometimes but it might become a problem if it starts to affect their normal every day functions in life. People who suffer from serious procrastination might be suffering from an underlying psychological or physiological disorder to.
The word procrastination originates from the Latin {words of|] "Pro" which means forward and "Crastinus" which means of tomorrow. Many people through history have produced quotes on the subject of procrastination, for example...Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task.
The are various causes with the psychological type of procrastination but normally the person with the condition to experience the following:-
1. Anxious 2. Low self esteem 3. Self defeating mentality
Often a procrastinator will have a higher than normal level of conscientiousness based on their inclination to be perfect or being an achiever. This is in complete contrast to their appreciation of their obligations and potential are. Unfortunately this can mean that they sometimes unconsciously over or underestimate the scale of the project in hand.
Researchers have looked into the physiological aspects of procrastination. Focussing in relation to the function of the prefrontal cortex of the human brain. This is responsible for executive functions like planning, impulse control, and attention and,it also behaves like a filter by reducing the amount of stimuli that can distract other parts of the brain. Should there be damage or low activation in this area of the brain then it it is likely to reduce a person's ability to disregard such stimuli that is likely to distract them. The end result is that they are poorly organized, they are usually less attentive and their susceptibility to procrastination will be increased.
It is then that expectation which was once non urgent higher up the list of things to complete and will soon become a priority. This means the procrastinator will become subject to all tasks that are urgent and because he is unable to establish any prior ties in order to get complete any task. In this case such people are often to be found spending time on tasks which are neither urgent or a priority as an escape from the stresses caused by the important tasks they are ignoring.
The procrastinator needs to understand that only by organizing their work routine and planning every day before committing to any action. It is important that they allocate time first thing each day to create a plan of action {of|for|covering) the tasks that they {need|have) to complete the following day. If they can then divide these tasks up into smaller parts in order to get the job done. Finishing a project can help relieve the effects of procrastination that they are feeling, once a procrastinator completes a hard project it can help release their abilities, the biggest problem is getting them to that point.

What Is The Value Of One Great Idea?

What is the value of “one great idea” on personal development? Priceless in my opinion. When I really look back at the things which have helped me with success and happiness, it really comes down to a few key ideas and concepts that just “clicked” at one point in my life. The funny thing is that a life changing concept for me will often be practically ignored when shared with another. Everyone is unique as to what concepts are most needed in their life, and their readiness to receive it. Each of us needs to find those ideas which are going to take us to the next level in our own personal development. And I believe there always is a next level.

I don’t mean to diminish the importance of basic values, this is foundational to personal growth and happiness, and I believe having some spiritual beliefs is important here. But the key thing is that all these techniques such as affirmations, hypnosis, inspirational stories, motivational speeches, etc. only go so far. Real, substantial change only happens with a great idea which fundamentally changes the way you act and think. I don’t just mean a “nice idea”, rather one that just hits home with you, and helps you look at life differently or changes your behavior.

When I read a personal development book, I’m happy if I just get one great idea out of the entire book, this sadly isn’t always the case. Sometimes a great idea will hit me in the early part of a book, and I’ll set the book aside until I can fully process the idea in my mind. Great books are this way, full of so many great ideas that reading too much in one sitting is a bad idea! But great ideas don’t need to only come from books, they can come from so many sources, perhaps even a friend or co-worker.

How can we better leverage this concept in our lives? Keep a journal and write down special ideas as you come across them. Just trust yourself if an idea seems like it hits home for you. If it doesn’t feel right for you, just pass it by, even if it came from a super successful person. What’s right for one person may not be right for you, we are all unique human beings, although it’s wise to listen carefully to a successful person who you’d like to be like. Take notes about how this idea might help you in your own life. Otherwise you risk forgetting about it if you aren’t applying it regularly. My grandfather kept a little black book of ideas and quotes he wrote down, and when he passed away it meant a lot to me that I was able to have this and read the wisdoms he had collected during his long life as a minister.

I think one of the reasons people like quotations is because they sum up a great idea from a famous person in one or two sentences. Develop your own “life quotations” which express your personal great ideas and beliefs you wish to live your life by. Own these personal quotes by writing them down, and live them by practicing them.

A belief is simply an idea which you have 100% certainty in, so the trick is converting an idea to a belief through successful application of the idea. If you’re not sure an idea will work for you, just dive right in and give it a try, just thinking about it will usually get you nowhere!

You Can Turn Your Mistakes, Magically, Into Opportunities

If you are like me, then you are human, and you make mistakes. Mistakes, however, are an opportunity if you seize that opportunity; and by doing just that you can become a master at overcoming your mistakes:
- Take the time to evaluate the mistake and then learn from it. A great way to evaluate is to look at what went right and what didn't.
- Take ownership of what you did that was incorrect or wrong.
- By taking ownership of your responsibility you are able to accept that you made the mistake.
- And finally, you can use your evaluation and learning to better yourself.

When you truly acknowledge and accept your responsibility and role in mistakes can you access the magic or treasure of the mistake.

As an entrepreneur, I am sure, you are more than familiar with mistakes. You probably have made both small mistakes and BIG mistakes along the way. Mistakes may, for some, put them right out of business or scare them out of business.
When you are in business, it is like walking through the jungle. You have to be prepared to be in the jungle and survive. You have to have thick skin, courage, perseverance and more. I bet you have had some customers that were close to totally impossible. Or a competitor that always seemed to be 3 steps ahead of you. If you do any marketing well, then you have made many mistakes. Because marketing success is all about learning from what didn't work.
This is the joy of an entrepreneur: the excitement of learning, the control to make mistakes and the willingness to be courageous and take risks. You persevere and you learn, continuously. Your positive attitude is essential in building a thriving businesses and enduring the lessons that you have to learn along the way.
Mistakes can be spun, magically into new income, new revenue
One way to do this "spinning into money", is to share your experience with others. Other people can benefit from your learning and their tension eases as they realize that they are not alone. You can also create your own coaching program to provide coaching, based on your experience to other businesses. An entrepreneur that is courageous can share their own personal mistakes, pointing out the challenges that they faced and how they overcame them, creates a synergy with other business owners. Suddenly, you are a speaker and coach, and people are following you, because you have risen to the level of expert.

Connect, connect, connect!
As an entrepreneur, you have to connect with other people. Your contacts and connections are vital when you see your sales slowing or if you decide to start a new business venture. Networking is just part of business. It gives you additional venues for sharing your expertise and sharing your advice.
WOW, the customer:
It is critical throughout your business to WOW your customers. "WOW" is all about service delivery, quality and customer service. Maybe you have had a challenging staff person that wasn't especially good at customer service. You know that that is essential for your long-term success. You have to take action with the employee to improve their performance, or change their responsibilities.
It becomes an opportunity to update your customer service policy and to re-train staff. You can also evaluate what can be automated: answering services, Q & A page on your website, automated messages.

Mistakes and challenges make it impossible for you to not look at your business. By taking on the opportunity you are able find the magic of the mistakes. What can you improve? Systems? Process? 5 Ways to Make Effective Decisions

Being more productive and performing at a higher level requires mastering several skills. One of the most important is effective decision making. Here are a few pointers you might find helpful:
Make sure you've got the facts
You wouldn't dive into a pool of water without first knowing the depth, so it's wise not to jump into a quick decision before gathering a little background data. Who? What? Where? When? How? Asking a few of these types of questions can help in gathering the info you need to make a good decision.
Think outcome -- from the outset
A good place to give some thought to the desired outcome of a situation is before a final decision is made. When faced with a problem, think about the best case scenario for the outcome and try to work toward that end as you process through the issue(s),
Choose advisors wisely
Be careful not to allow yourself to be overly influenced by another's perspective on the issue. While it's important to get feedback from others, be discerning with regard to personal agendas that may be involved.
Develop a decision making model
Create a model by which you make all key decisions and stick by it as various challenges avail themselves.  Making key decisions the same way every time will improve the quality of the decision immensely.
Track the results
On all key decisions, carefully monitor the results to make sure the decision was sound. Closely monitoring a decision allows you to make timely adjustments. It will also afford you the opportunity to study the effectiveness of your process and apply those lessons to future decisions.
